“Smoke-Free Legazpi” was created for the following purposes:

• To advocate the advantages of a no-smoking family and community, inform the citizens of the ill-effects of smoking and educate the people how to prevent it.
• To assist the local government unit in the implementation and enforcement of local ordinances, national and international laws on smoking.
• To advocate for the passage of local ordinances related to Clean Air Act of 1999, the Republic Act 9211 and other related national and international laws.
• To organize and prepare a citywide unified plan of action with corresponding budget to prevent and counter smoking-related problems.
• To organize and spearhead the Speaker’s Bureau
• To conduct smoking prevention, education, and cessation programs to the different sectors of the community especially the youth.
• To coordinate with the local government unit on the establishment of smoking cessation clinics.
