| Description | Q What is SMOKE-FREE LEGAZPI”? A “Smoke-Free Legazpi” was conceptualized by the Steering Committee on Family Week Celebration during its planning session in September 2003. The idea of banding together to keep families healthy and protect them from the dangers of smoking-related diseases and the children from being initiated to smoking came about after it was noted that smoking is one of the causes why family members are not healthy today. On March 8, 2004 The City Government of Legazpi formally launched the SMOKEFREE COMMITTEE in a special morning program participated in by various sectors which believed that families should be freed from the dangers of smoking. City Mayor Noel E. Rosal, Honorary Chairman of the Smoke-Free Committee, signed Executive Order No. 04-2004 which created and defined the functions of the Smoke-Free Committee to seal the common commitment of various stakeholders.
