Disaster officials now realize that smoking is one of the causes of some disasters and these calamities may be prevented if people would become responsible in their environment and in their lifestyle choices. Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Bicol Director Bernardo Rafaelito Alejandro IV joins Smoke-Free Committee’s call for a “NO SMOKING” Disaster Consciousness Month in its July 1st launching at the Albay Penaranda Park.

A parade of rescue teams from all over Bicol Region, rescue demo, firefight and afternoon motorcade led by Legazpi’s Disaster Coordinating Council marked the launch.
